ALLOFMP3.COM IS BACK AND THE FUNNY FOLKS AT GQ

Well, well, well. Look which site is back: the sweet, sweet allofmp3.com has returned from the dead.

Why does this matter? The Russia-based site sells MP3 tracks without Digital Rights Management (DRM) embedded in the files, effectively side-stepping iTunes and other digital download sites. It’s a hugely popular site and has high-quality MP3 files for sale at bargin-basement prices.

You can only bet that the RIAA in the U.S. would love nothing more than to nail these guys to the wall. Too bad they’ve got that whole jurisdiction crap to deal with, eh? Oh, that and the RIAA’s completely destroyed reputation and known tendencies to pick on college students and grandmothers. Just saying.

GQ: This month’s issue of GQ has a fawning portrait of Barack Obama in it. It’s a good interview, although I’m starting to wonder if he really has a shot against Team Rodham-Clinton. At this point, it’s anyone’s guess who is going to win the Democratic nomination and I’m not even going to venture a guess.

Also, shout out to Johnny C and Becks for their upcoming trip to the U.K. – should be a blast, wish I was there!

CHANGE IS HARD

Life’s a pretty tough thing these days. I’m in the midst of a lot of big time changes these days – some good, some extremely hard.

But I think this is a time of transition I need to keep up with. If anything, it’s probably a sign that something good is going to emerge out of this year.

BLOGGING ENNUI?

Alright, time to be honest here: I’m not feeling this blogging business much these days, if at all. Hence, my lack of postings, well, most of this year.

Want to know why? I don’t feel like I have much to say of particularly earth-shattering importance, to be frank. Other than today’s news about the impending collapse of American lending and credit ratings and the sub-prime mortgage market, commenting on the hypocrisy surrounding Live Earth, the Minnesota Bridge collapse, the generally sub-par quality of summer movies this year, sans The Simpsons Movie, Knocked Up and 28 Weeks Later… okay, alright, I’m in a grumpy mood today. Time to take some vitamins and a Red Bull. I guess I just didn’t, and still don’t, see the point of blogging, at least for me. Here’s a couple of random comments…

Shrek the Third sucked. Transformers was loud and obnoxious (you know you’re getting older when a Michael Bay film pisses you off due to the noise).

Okay, enough of the sharp negativity here. I have a notoriously short attention span and writing about stuff you can get on a major news outlet seems a bit superfluous, don’t you think?

Good news: The Simpsons, Season Ten came out today. And my car got a tune-up today and it’s in great shape.

And, amazingly, there will be another post next week. Let me ease into this again, albeit slowly.
